Surgeon's Hall
Surgeons’ Hall offer a range of dramatic and romantic venues for Edinburgh weddings. The elegantly classical and historical Playfair Building offers a variety of room sizes to host both the ceremony and wedding breakfast and provides a stunning setting for wedding photos. Edinburgh Castle
One of Edinburgh's most extravagant wedding venues - the fabulous Edinburgh Castle. Though expensive, the location is fabulous – think of the photo opportunities! Within the medieval fortress you’ve four venues to choose from - St. Margaret’s Chapel holds just 25 guests – intimate and atmospheric. The Gatehouse Suite has a lovely private terrace overlooking the Royal Mile and holds 40. The Jacobite Room holds 100 and the Queen Anne Building accommodates 120 – suitable for the ceremony and the reception.
Bear in mind you can’t bring in your own caterer and can only use those under contract to Historic Scotland. Chairs, candles, altar table and flower stands are included in the hire price and you can use the entire castle grounds as a backdrop for your photos. Hopetoun House
Dominating 150 acres of beautiful parkland, one of Scotland's most romantic and magnificent stately homes is available for ceremonies and receptions.
The State Apartments are a fabulous backdrop for any wedding. The ceremony can be held in either the Garden Parlour or the Red Drawing Room - both boast magnificent views of the fountain, the lawns and the breathtaking parkland beyond. The Adams Stables are licensed for 150 guests and have a private courtyard. Guests can exit via the dramatic colonnade that leads to the imposing façade of the main house. Smile please! Oxenfoord Castle
Just twelve miles from Edinburgh city centre, stunning Oxenfoord Castle offers an elegant and dramatic venue for the big day. The 68 acres of glorious park and woodland include a croquet lawn and two tennis courts. From the library, large double doors open up onto the elegant Drawing Room. Glass doors then open out onto sweeping lawns. The Dining Room is one of the most impressive rooms in Scotland with a fabulously ornate plaster ceiling created by Robert Adam in l780. The Signet Law Library

One of Edinburgh’s best kept secrets, the Signet was described by King George IV as ‘the finest drawing room in Europe’. Steeped in history, it was designed in 1822 by Robert Reid (King’s architect and designer of the Bank of Scotland building). The Royal Botanic Gardens

Nature provides its own cathedral in the shape of the imposing redwoods in the John Muir Grove. The towering trees make for a cathedral-like atmosphere – a real fairytale setting for that all-important ceremony.
The Botanics offer a range of options including the elegant Caledonian Hall overlooking the famous Rock Garden (accommodates around 100 with option of an additional marquee) or The Marquee site located on the lawn in front of lovely Inverleith House.
