10 Strangest Things Found in Hotel Rooms

strange things left in hotel rooms, wierdest things left in hotel rooms

A Small Child

An Edinburgh Travelodge reported that the oddest piece of lost property was a 4 year-old boy.  The parents were in a hurry to get to a party, piled the luggage in the car and drove off.  Sometime later they realised he was missing and returned to find him still happily playing in the room with his toys.

Remains of a Dead Person

Another family visiting a Scottish Travelodge left behind an urnful of their Mother-in-law’s ashes.  Well you would, wouldn’t you?

Alternative Identities

One strange holidaymaker left behind an entire suitcase full of nothing but wigs and glasses.   Lord Lucan perhaps?

A Strange Companion

A guest in another Edinburgh Travelodge left behind an inflatable sheep.  Hard to know what to say about that one but we’ll leave it to your imagination!

A Small Fortune

One guest left  £1000 under the mattress in his hotel room.

A Large Body Part

Another guest left his artificial leg behind.  You’d think just maybe he might have missed it!

A Slightly Bigger Fortune

At the Marquis Reforma Hotel in Mexico City one guest left behind 100,000 pesos (about $10,000) hidden inside a cereal box in the safe.  He did return to claim it.

A Large Scary Monster

Housekeepers intent on cleaning one departed guest’s room got the fright of their lives when they encountered a terrifying six-foot crocodile with its jaws outstretched.  After a few moments' eyeballing, they realised it was actually stuffed.  The question is – how did the guest get that one past reception?

Gnashers

Many, many hotels report guests leaving behind their false teeth.  Yuk!   (For some reason that old refrain ‘Nothing Succeeds Like a Toothless Budgie’ leaps to mind)

The Ultimate Boy Toy

An American guest left behind a giant six foot by six foot remote control helicopter.  You have to ask – where exactly was it hiding so that he could forget to pack it?
