Why Middle Eastern Women are Turning To Lesbianism
WHY MIDDLE EASTERN WOMEN ARE TURNING TO LESBIANISM

In Saudi Arabia, where almost every aspect of women’s lives are controlled by men – fathers, grandfathers, brothers, husbands and even adult sons - more and more women are turning to lesbianism as a safe outlet for repressed sexual feelings.
According to a report in The Times, in a society where men often play around and spend very little time with their wives, women are turning to one another for intimacy and sexual fulfilment.
They quote ‘Mashael’ who says:

‘I was looking for consolation and I found it. A girl strokes your hand and you know she’s trying to seduce you but you think, why not? Sex life is a disaster between Saudi men and women..so after a while you think ‘Why not with another woman?’ It is a great way to have revenge. In this society you are mad if you have an affair with a man but with a woman it is safe’.
She continues ’If you are a woman and you want the happiness that goes with being part of a couple, you have to get that, in my experience, from another woman'.
Mashael lists the qualities she gets from her intimate female-to- female liasions:
‘Tenderness. Sharing. Trust. Honesty. Support. Strong and clean emotions. Respect – above all, respect’.
