It’s official. Size does matter. A new study by Newcastle Uni’ boffins revealed that the pleasure women get from sex is directly linked to the size of their man’s……bank balance.
Says Dr. Thomas Pollet, psychologist behind the study “Women’s orgasm frequency increases with the income of their partner.”
Of course the six-million dollar question is…..why? Dr. P. believes what underlies his observations is an “evolutionary adaptation” hard-wired into females. It can be no surprise that women consciously or subconsciously select men on the basis of their perceived quality. What is potentially more controversial is the idea that money should be one of the major selection criteria and that this should lead 
women to take more pleasure in their partners. Says Dr Pollet: “Increasing partner income had a highly positive effect on women’s self-reported frequency of orgasm. More desirable mates cause women to experience more orgasms.”
Previous research in the U.S. and Germany has examined physical attributes such as body symmetry and attractiveness, finding that these too have an effect on reported orgasm frequency. The correlation between frequency of orgasm and money, however, does seem to be much more important
So are women just gold-diggers at heart? Apparently so. Researchers within the discipline of evolutionary psychology have suggested that both men and women are genetically predisposed to ruthlessly exploit each other in order to achieve the best survival outcome for their genes.

Interesting study. I am not rich, so I should of course like it to be very untrue. I am also idealistically inclined to disbelieve it, but I guess my idealism no longer leads me to the lengths of dishonesty it did in my youth (when my heart supplid all the causes and my reason followed obediently with all the reasons). Some comments, though:
* The study subjects were all Chinese, and there might be a strong cultural influence. Indeed, culture might explain the whole difference.
* If the correlation persists also in a society like ours, there are still several ways of defining wealth: (a) static wealth, (b) revenue stream, (c) ability to create revenue stream. So in the worst of cases, a man with much money and income may yet fail to satisfy if his money are all the product of factors beyond his control. Say a wastrel heir; would he give these Chinese women much of an orgasm?
* How about power? Money is just a modern way of having power, and stone age man hadn't even invented money, but he was well aware of power. Any genetic adaption would probably be to power, not to money.
* Could it be that the correlation and selection goes the other way? Could it be that rich men only settle and marry when they have found a woman who orgasms more easily? Or that they even in the pre-screening go for characteristics well correlated with easy orgasming? It would make sense for a high-octane man to choose a woman who would orgasm without so much preparation time (foreplay and all that nuisance, you know).
* It does make some sense, though, given that (from what I understand) the female erotic response and orgasm contributes to the fertilization process. A strong erotic response is equivalent to the woman saying she wants those sperm to reach all the way to the egg. Hmmm ... wonder if there is a big difference between women on the pill and others. It should.
Do you know if the study was more detailed and shed any light on those issues?
