Opulent Elegance - Feature Home

This magnificent end terrace town house combines the best of traditional period elegance with a 21st century lightness of touch.

The airy sitting room benefits from three sets of floor to ceiling French windows tastefully dressed with unlined thai silk in a soft taupe.  The light, contemporary feel is repeated in stylish tweed sofas from B + B Italia.  These combine beautifully with stunning French antiques and an extravagant  Louis-style marble fireplace. The waxed original parquet floor lends warmth and great depth of character and gilded mirrors, candelabra and sconces bestow opulence and glamour on the overall scheme.

The elegant, opulent kitchen has simple, handmade Georgian style units which provide the perfect backdrop for more arresting features such as the unusual copper range and extraction hood.  A central island unit with a granite top makes the perfect spot for food extensive preparation and chatting to the chef and the island’s position is anchored by a vast, glittering chandelier.  Glass fronted units provide display space for an unusual collection of glassware while an original pantry houses much of the everyday kitchen clutter.

The luxurious master bedroom has a luxurious but understated decorating scheme with lined silk drapes in the same rich taupe framing two more sets of French windows.

Another statement chandelier hangs over a distinctive ebony framed bed with delicate silk coverlets.  A deep buttoned armchair by the window provides the perfect spot for reading  and various pieces of antique furniture provide depth to the colour scheme.

More antique furniture graces the master bathroom – in this case a somewhat battered, carved mahogany washstand – the perfect repository for bathroom clutter.   A reproduction Victorian sink with gilded legs makes a charming focal point and the shower area has a rainshower head and steam function.  Reproduction antique sconces soften the lighting and a woven Roman blind diffuses the outside light and softens the hard edges of the tiled room.
