Grand Style - Feature Home

This magnificent eight bedroom traditional villa truly delivers on period elegance and style.  The focal point of the vast double aspect drawing room is an imposing grand piano with an impressive pedigree.  Floor to ceiling French windows overlook verdant gardens and an eclectic assortment of antique pieces are arranged in conversation spots and ‘zones’ which help break up the room.  A variety of soft pastel toned upholstery fabrics pick up and reinforce the soft Aubusson tones in the rug. An oversized armoire and floor lamp add real visual interest.

The kitchen is a charmingly electic mix of country-style freestanding and mounted units.  An antique, green painted French farmhouse table with a granite top snuggles up against an industrial style stainless steel range.  Bespoke mahogany wall units house china and an extensive collection of cookery books.   On the opposite wall more contemporary white painted units are backed by useful blackboards and pull out larders house a copious amount of everyday clutter.

The focal point of the master bedroom is a vast carved mahogany four poster rescued from a country house sale.  Delicate wood panelling creates a calming rhythm and backdrop to some truly magnificent antique furniture. Sateen bed linen in a delicate duck egg blue festooned with birds of paradise adorns the four poster and a bow fronted chest topped with an oversized gilded lamp makes an imposing bedside arrangement.

The charming master en-suite has a real feel of the Belle Epoch.  An etched glass screen filters the light and provides privacy for the claw footed, free-standing roll top bath.  An oversized,  refurbished Edwardian basin looks right at home with a modern, stylished mixer tap and the same delicate wood panelling provides the perfect framing for sanitaryware.
A Louis-style fireplace and a comfy armchair make this the perfect room to linger awhile.
