Mortgage breaks when pregnant

A friend of mine told me you can get a mortgage break when you are pregnant - i know it does not make sense to not pay off your mortgage as quickly as possible financially - but it would be a great help when it is needed most - does anyone know if this is a general rule or is it mortgage and mortgage provider specific? - thanks
