Digital Photo frame?

I think i might get my dad a digital photo frame for his birthday but don't really know much about them, does any one have one and is it OK.  Do i have to spend a lot of money to get a good image or are the cheaper ones OK.  Would love any comments on this.

I have a cheap and cheerful digital photo frame and it works really well and i am delighted by it. It really is a talking point as there is always a new photo to look at and the kids love it - a huge success in our house and i would really recommend them. I may get my mum and fill the memory stick full of pictures of the grand kids and family which i think she will love for Christmas, in fact lots of people may be getting a digital photo frame this Christmas!
