Are You Ready for Thigh-Highs?

Is over the knee simply over the top?   Suitable only for prostitutes or principal boys? 

Apparently not! Thigh boots have made a strong appearance on so many designer’s catwalks this season.   But this time they’re more sexy than seedy.

As always, the high street has jumped on the bandwagon with Office, Pied a Terre, Bertie, Hobbs, River Island and Jigsaw all offering their own version.

Jimmy Choo’s Tamara Mellon says  “It’s the right time for a fantastic over-the-knee boot. Ours is called Heaven. I think that says it all. They make women feel strong, confident and sexy. They also elongate the legs.”

Thigh boots can be surprisingly flattering. Worn with the right clothes they create a sexy, streamlined silhouette. They also make shorter skirts wearable for women who have no confidence in their knees.  Worn over skinny jeans they create a rakish, sexy look.   And apparently men love them.  A lot.
