Cutting Edge Pringle? It's no Oxymoron!

For years we’ve all associated the Pringle brand with fusty middle-class, middle-aged golfers.
However a consistent push by brand marketers and a cutting-edge range of new designs is finally beginning to make inroads into that die-hard staid image.
Now Pringle have recruited the 6ft tall, edgy, androgynous model Tilda Swinton to model those new designs. Says Pringle’s Mary-Adair Macaire of Swinton:
‘She’s got this gutsy, individual style and…an astonishing presence. Not only that, she’s Scottish’.
Of Pringle’s new range, Macaire says:
'We have a universal appeal with our core products but this is reaching out to a new customer who may be looking at Pringle for the first time. It isn’t just a heritage brand…it was known as an innovator. Take a look at this collection. You’ll be pleasantly surprised!’
Swinton herself is clearly a fan:
‘There’s something of the goth in there, some punk..all sorts of very ancient and fabulous knitwear that’s reminiscent of my childhood.
It feels for me a very personal collection as if they’ve downloaded a lot of things a modern Scottish person would understand’.
